To access Ballintubber Abbey from the South of Ireland by car, go through Galway City and head for Ballinrobe . After Ballinrobe take the road to Westport and just after the village of Partry take a right. The road leads down to the Abbey.

To access Ballintubber Abbey from the East of the country, head to Claremorris, after Claremorris take the road to Westport and Ballintubber is approx. half way.
